You can reuse the product facts from an Amazon listing on eBay. The field structure needs another pass: some details belong in item specifics, others in the description or offer settings. This example follows one desk organiser through the transfer and shows what still needs checking before publication.
Decide where each piece of information belongs
eBay’s guidance says item specifics help buyers find products through search and filters. Fill the relevant fields in the selected category even when the same facts already appear in the description.
- Amazon title → eBay title
- Keep the product type, brand and identifying variant details. Edit the wording for eBay’s title field; do not append a string of backend keywords.
- Bullet points → description and item specifics
- Turn useful explanations into short description paragraphs. Put facts such as material and colour into their matching item-specific fields too.
- Product description → eBay description
- Keep dimensions, contents and limitations. Remove references to Amazon-only page elements or services.
- Backend search terms → review individually
- Use a relevant term in readable copy only where it helps identify the item. Do not paste the keyword list into the description.
- Safety and offer information → destination fields
- Review safety information, item condition, price, delivery and returns in the eBay listing form. A copied description does not populate these settings.

The suggested item specifics are a mapping aid, not a guaranteed set of field names. Use the names and accepted values shown for your chosen eBay category. Record condition from the actual item; do not assume “new” because the Amazon copy describes an unused product.
The title is similar because the product has not changed. The description gathers the short Amazon bullets into two paragraphs. Material and colour also appear as structured data so they are available outside the description.
Check the destination listing
- Compare the selected variant and quantity with the photos. Remove accessories that could be mistaken for included items, or label them clearly where appropriate.
- Review item specifics, identifiers and any category-required fields in the listing form. Check that dimensions refer to the product rather than its packaging.
- Complete the safety and seller information, then check condition, delivery and returns against the actual offer.
- Open the mobile preview. Check for clipped text, leftover Amazon references and formatting copied from an old template.
